Assistant Commissioner Roland A. Rey started his career in the Commission on Audit on December 3, 1979 as Accountant II. He rose from the ranks to become Director IV on November 3, 2003. From then on, he was Director of Corporate Government Sector (CGS) Clusters 6 and 3 (November 2003 to September 2007), Local Government Sector (LGS) Cluster 3-Southern Luzon (July 2008 to November 2008), LGS-National Capital Region (December 2008 to December 2011), Government Accountancy (January 2012 to June 2012), Region 13 (July 2012 to February 2015) and Region 5 (March 2015 to August 2020). After his stint in the CGS, he was also assigned to the UN Board of Auditors in New York as Director of External Audit (Philippines) from October 2007 to June 2008. On August 20, 2020, he was designated as OIC-Assistant Commissioner for LGS. Upon his receipt of his appointment as Assistant Commissioner, he assumed as such on October 14, 2020. Asst. Comm. Rey hails from Tuguegarao City. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He gained his extensive audit and management expertise from his 41 years of practice as a Certified Public Accountant in government. Asst. Comm. Rey is happily married to Fe Marietta Abad-Rey and they are blessed with four children.
