COA Regional Office No. IV-A (CALABARZON) recently held its In-person Seminar on Cash Examination and One-Time Cleansing of Property, Plant and Equipment Account Balances of Government Agencies on July 3 to 7, 2023 at the Provincial Auditorium and Batangas Coliseum, Batangas City where Provincial Governor, Honorable Hermilando Ingco Mandanas whole-heartedly welcomed the participants.

To officially open the seminar, the Supervising Auditors (SA) of Batangas I and II, namely: SA Elena L. Luarca and Atty. John Arvin B. Atie warmly welcomed the 340 plus personnel from COA-CALABARZON, particularly: Office of the Director, Regional Office; Provinces of Batangas I and II, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon I and II, State Universities and Colleges; Water Districts and Other Stand Alone Agencies; National Government Audit Sector; Corporate Government Audit Sector; Legal and Adjudication Division; and Fraud Audit Division, including the Training Management Team (TMT) who gathered for the Region’s Seminar on Cash Examination and One-Time of Cleansing Property, Plant and Equipment Account Balances geared towards raising the level of professionalism and competence of CALABARZON personnel in preparation for the eventual examination of the cash and accounts of accountable officers and roll-out of the one-time cleansing of PPE of various government agencies.

The resource speaker for the 5-day event was none other than the very industrious and indefatigable Regional Director, Atty. Resurreccion C. Quieta who comprehensively discussed the rules, policies, audit procedures and techniques in the conduct of cash examination in accordance with the Revised Cash Examination Manual with in-depth analysis of each chapters and specific provisions, coupled with situational and case problems.

The officers and auditors were kept on their toes and remained alert all throughout the sessions as each day ended with a grueling quiz targeted at gauging the auditors’ absorption and understanding of the lecture and subject matter.

The One-Time Cleansing Seminar was graced by the presence of the personnel and officers of the Budget, Accounting and Property Offices of Batangas City and Provincial Government of Batangas.

OIC-Assistant Regional Director, Melanie P. Ruidera gave the closing remarks where she expressed her gratitude to all the Officials of Batangas for allowing the use of the two provincial venues and the heads of the various committees who made the event possible.
