“On behalf of PhilGASEA, I wish to congratulate Regional Office No. IV-A for winning the PhilGASEA nationwide song writing contest and for bagging most of the major prizes in the PhilGASEA Raffle Draw during the 123rd COA Anniversary Celebrations,” says the charismatic President of the Philippine Government Audit Service Employees Association (PhilGASEA), Atty. Christopher M. Cancino.
Regional Office No. IV-A (ROIV-A) proved once again that it’s a power house among the regions when it bagged the 1st National COA Writing Contest with the song “COA, Partner ng Filipino” composed by Auditor JM Mataya with singers: Ms. Christine Mae Ranario, Ms. Luisa Aganan and guitarist, Mr. Marvin Rey Clemente. The team was chosen from among 24 entries from the different COA Regions which garnered the most online votes. They received a whooping cash prize of ₱50,000.00 in a “winner takes all” contest with no runners up.
“It’s a dream come true for me as my passion has always been towards music and the arts, I still could not believe it as I honestly composed the lyrics in just under 20 minutes. It’s an honor for me and for my teammates,” says Auditor JM Mataya of the Office of the Regional Director.
Likewise, ROIV-A also dominated the PhilGASEA raffle draw in terms of the prizes. A total of fourteen (14) regional personnel were among the winners of the raffle. Ms. Celia Capuno of Rizal won the 3rd top prize of ₱20,000.00, Ms. Corrine Agbuya of Rizal and Mr. Servillano Pichay of Cavite both won Smart Watches, SA Celerino Alviar of Quezon-I won a cellular phone, and Mr. Enrique Arcullo won a scooter, while the rest won minor prizes.
