In the center of one of the top-rated places listed as Stadium, Arena & Sports Venue in the Philippines, that boasts of an Olympic-sized swimming pool, COA Regional No. IV-A (ROIV-A), gratefully held its Fellowship Night at the Sta. Rosa Commercial Sports Complex on the occasion of COA’s 123rd Anniversary Celebration, with the theme “Super Heroes” to reflect the COAn spirit for public service.

On April 24, 2022, the delegates from the Regional Office (RO) and the different provinces of ROIV-A; namely: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon gathered together for a fun-filled event that started off with Welcome Remarks from SA Rodolfo M. Asuncion, Supervising Auditor of the Province of Laguna. He expressed his sincerest thanks to the City of Sta. Rosa for generously allowing COA ROIV-A to hold its line-up activities to commemorate COA’s 123rd Anniversary Celebrations at the world class Sta. Rosa Sports Complex and welcomed all the Supervising Auditors (SAs), OIC-SAs, Regional Supervising Auditors (RSAs), OIC-RSAs, Service Chiefs (SCs), OIC-SCs, Audit Team Leaders, Audit Team Members, staff and special guests.

In his Opening Remarks, Regional Director Atty. Resurreccion C. Quieta emphasized the importance of striking a balance between work and play, that despite working for more than 8 hours under the pressures of targets, meetings, commitments and deadlines, the fellowship night and incoming sportsfest activities are perfect opportunities to recharge, and to improve physical strength, health and wellness.

The competition for Best Performance/Presentation energized the crowd and liven up the night as each province and RO show-cased their hidden talents. Criteria for judging consisted of Creativity (35%), Execution (30%), Audience Impact (25%) and Simplicity (10%) for a total of 100%.  The Champion was the host province, Laguna with their Spartan/Grecian theme, followed by the 1st Runner Up- the Province of Batangas with their frontliner/pandemic theme and 2nd Runner Up, the Regional Office with the retro-disco-r&b theme.

The Fellowship Night was also an avenue to honor the retirees for their years of service and to award the Certificates of Recognition for our PRAISE National and Regional Winners for Gawad Karangalan (Honor Award) and Gawad Kahusayan (Outstanding Performance) namely: RSA Sylvia A. Espiritu, ATL Avelina R. Flores, ATM Viron R. Calma and then Fraud Audit Services SC Atty. Gerardo P. Sirios. The Gawad Karangalan was given to Mr. Joseph Estorninos.

Special intermission numbers were given by Mr. Florante P. Mondez and Ms. Athena N. Estremos. The official entry of COA ROIV-A for the COA National Song Writing Contest entitled “COA, Partner ng Filipino” was also performed by composer Jessamine J. Mataya and singers: Ms. Maria Luisa L. Aganan, Ms. Christine Mae R. Ranario, and Mr. Marvin Rey T. Clemente.

The ultimate highlight of the Fellowship Night was the announcement of winners and award of cash prizes for the Best in Super Heroes Costume for both Male and Female Categories.

For the Best in Super Heroes Female Category, the honor of being the Champion went to Ms. Vivian Cavida as Wonder Woman, 1st Runner Up was awarded to Ms. Karen Gay Nisperos as Wonder Woman, and the 2nd Runner Up went to Ms. Maria Kristine O. Gumintad as Aquaman (female version).

While for the Best in Super Heroes Male Category, the champion was awarded to Assistant Regional Director Juniel D. Sadiasa as Tigreal from Mobile Legends, 1st Runner Up went to Atty. John Arvin Atie as Optimus Prime and 2nd Runner Up was awarded to Mr. Joseph Muriel Abendanio as Iron Man and Keith John Fadriquela as Captain Barbel who shared the spot.

The affair was hosted by Ms. Cruzette Dela Cruz, Ms. Maria Luisa Aganan, and Mr. Carlos Garcia.
