The Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office No. (RO) IV-A officials and employees definitely know how to make their Regional Director (RD) feel loved on his special day.  On April 1, 2022, the COA RO IV-A family gathered together at the COA International Training Center in Tagaytay City for a surprise party to celebrate the 61st birthday of Atty. Resurreccion C. Quieta.

The event took place after the Annual Assessment Conference of all COA Directors, Assistant Directors, Assistant Commissioners and the Commission Proper (CP) consisting of COA Chairperson Rizalina N. Justol, Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc, and Commissioner Mario G. Lipana, which was held at the same venue.

Thus, present for the surprise birthday party of RD Quieta was the entire CP, as well as the immediate family of RD Quieta – his wife Noemi Noval and their children Don Delvir, Mark Kevin and Theresa Rexymae.

The birthday celebration kicked off with the Welcome Remarks given by Atty. Osana Theresa D. Domingo, OIC- Supervising Auditor of the Province of Cavite.  This was followed by a heart-warming message from RD Quieta’s predecessor in RO IV-A, Commissioner Lipana.

Video greetings from COA officials and employees who are dear to the heart of RD Quieta were also shown during the program.  This was followed by a video presentation about RD Quieta, touching on his personal life as well as his professional life.

The head of every department in RO IV-A also delivered short messages for RD Quieta, followed by special presentations from each Province under RO IV-A, which surely entertained the celebrator.

RD Quieta was also serenaded by Mr. Jude Riel from the Province of Quezon, Mr. Renato Ciriaco of the National Government Sector – Cluster 7, Mr. Florante P. Mondez, Audit Team Leader (ATL) – City Government of Dasmariñas, Cavite, Ms. Evangeline J. Percy of Fraud Audit Services, RO IV-A, and Ms. Teena Norombaba, ATL – Corporate Government Sector – Cluster 5.

Before the celebration came to an end, RD Quieta profusely thanked his RO IV-A Family for making his birthday a very memorable one, especially since it is the first one that his wife and children were present along with his co-workers in COA.  He admitted that the surprise party rendered him speechless, and that his heart was overflowing with joy at that moment.  To repay for all the love he was shown, he gave an impromptu song number.  He sang “El Mundo” with the Jungle Fighter Band, which provided lively music throughout the evening.

Assistant Regional Director Juniel D. Sadiasa officially closed the night’s festivities.  He narrated all the preparations made for the surprise party, making sure that RD Quieta will not have any clue as to what might take place that night.  He finally thanked all those who worked hard to make the celebration a success.

The theme for the event was Hawaiian/summer/floral. Special awards for the Best in Costume for male and female and for runners up were given out with big cash prizes.  Awarded for Best in Costume for Male was Mr. Rodolfo M. Asuncion.  The second place went to Engr. Billy Boy A. Doria, while the third place went to Atty. John Arvin B. Atie and Mr. Dexter John P.
