COA Region IV-A kicked off 2020 with a landmark project, the Provincial Satellite Auditing Office (PSAO) in Calamba City, Laguna. Last February 11, 2020, no less than the Chairperson of the Commission on Audit, Michael G. Aguinaldo led the groundbreaking ceremony of the PSAO Laguna, together with Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc, Calamba District Representative Joaquin M. Chipeco, Jr., Calamba City Mayor Justin Marc SB. Chipeco and COA Regional Director Mario G. Lipana.

     Prior to the groundbreaking ceremony, the Commission, through Chairperson Aguinaldo, expressed his gratitude to the City of Calamba for generously making available a sizable land for the PSAO project, which only demonstrates the local government’s commitment to help the Commission effectively carry out its mandate.  In turn, Mayor Chipeco, in his speech, reiterated his continuous support for the Commission’s undertakings, particularly the PSAO project.

     Director Lipana acknowledged the indispensable help provided by the City Government of Calamba in making the project possible, as well as the invaluable assistance given by the COA Commission Proper in pushing for the construction of the PSAO Laguna.  This was echoed by Assistant Regional Director Maria Oliva V. Ortega in her closing remarks.

     Other guests likewise delivered messages during the short program, namely: Commissioner Pondoc, Congressman Chipeco, Jr., and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IV-A Director Samson L. Hebra.

     After the program, Chairperson Aguinaldo, Commissioner Pondoc, Congressman Chipeco, Jr., Mayor Chipeco, Director Lipana and Director Hebra conducted the groundbreaking together on the site where the construction work for the PSAO Laguna will soon commence.

     Some officials and employees from the COA Central Office and Region IV-A graced the event, as well as the heads of departments and officials of the City Government of Calamba.
